At least five people were killed when a road caved in near an industrial park in southern China's Guangzhou Province, the state media reported today.
According the Xinhua news agency it is not known how many people were swallowed in by the sinkhole that opened up at a road leading to the Huamao Industrial Park in the city of Shenzhen near Hong Kong yesterday
It was reported to be six to seven metre wide and about three metres deep.
While state-run Shanghai Daily newspaper reported that the local authorities have recovered five bodies this morning while another person was rescued unhurt from the sinkhole.
Search and rescue operations are still on, while the identity of the deceased persons is not yet known.
