China's military said today that the just-concluded Sino-Indian joint army exercises in Pune helped the two forces to learn from each other to "jointly cope" with terrorist threats and strengthened friendship.

Troops from both sides conducted adoptive training, basic and light troop tactical training, Chinese defence spokesman, Geng Yansheng told a media briefing while answering a question on the annual 'Hand-in-Hand' anti-terrorism exercises which concluded in Pune.

"They have learned from each other to improve their capability to jointly cope with the terrorist threats and strengthen their friendship. The success of the training will play a positive role in the militaries between the two countries," he said.

"I would like to say that joint training and joint exercises are important area in Chinese military's foreign exchange and cooperation. In the past one year, China held 30 such exercises with foreign militaries," he said.
