Sisodia urges LG to direct DDA to clear Rs 1500 cr due to MCDs

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today met Lt Governor Najeeb Jung and urged him to direct Delhi Development Authority to immediately clear its around Rs 1500 crore dues to municipal corporations ahead of Diwali.

Sisodia today met the Lt Governor and requested him to direct DDA to release Rs 1500 crore property tax dues it owed to the three civic bodies.

"The Deputy CM made this request to the Lt Governor so that the financially constrained MCDs could pay salaries and other dues to their employees before Diwali festival," said a senior official.

Earlier this week, Sisodia had accused Jung of allotting a
 

government school land to Delhi BJP for its office.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had written a letter to the Lt Governor last month, requesting him to direct DDA to immediately clear its dues running into over Rs 1,500 crores to the civic bodies facing financial constraints.
