Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia today warned government schools to improve the quality of mid-day meal after he found it to be "very poor".
Sisodia, who also holds the Education portfolio, during an inspection at Rajkiya Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, found that poor quality mid-day meal was being served to the children and directed the principal to ensure healthy meal is given to the students, a government official said.
He warned that action will be taken against schools which fail to meet guidelines set under the mid day meal scheme.

During an inspection earlier this week, a principal of a government school was suspended and a case registered with anti-corruption branch (ACB) against him after Sisodia found huge irregularities in financial transactions of the institution during a surprise inspection.
The incident came to light after Sisodia conducted a surprise visit at Rajendra Prasad Sarvodaya Vidyalaya at the President's Estate in central Delhi.
