Sister Nivedita's 150th Birth Anniversary celebrations begin

The 150th birth anniversary of Sister Nivedita has been set rolling by the Indian National Forum of Art and Culture, an NGO, in association with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations here.

The function 'Shradhhanjali', staged on May 27, was attended by assistant general secretary, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Swami Balabhdranandaji Maharaj.

"Sister Nivedita will always hold a very special place in the heart of the people of Kolkata. Her life shines like a beacon of light, guiding us on the path of selfless Karma," the venerated monk said on the occasion.

INFAC Cultural Secretary Subrata Ganguly said that the INFAC would organise an All-India Painting and Sculpture Exhibition on the life and works of Sister Nivedita at the Gaganendra Shilpa Pradarshala, Kolkata, from June 15 to 19.
 

The event would be inaugurated by Revered Pravrajika Amalaprana, Secretary, Sri Sarada Math and Ramakrishna-Sarada Mission, Dakshineswar.

Many dignitaries would be present during the five-day exhibition.
