They said the sisters were drowned in course of taking bath at the Mohanpur ghat last night.
The bodies were identified as that of Jyoti Kumari(17) and Pratima Kumari (16), the police said.
The sources said the sisters had come to a relatives home on the occasion of Durga Puja.
