SIT constituted to crack Rs 25 lakh robbery case

Police have formed a special investigation team (SIT) headed by a DIG-rank officer to crack the Friday night's robbery in which four men allegedly looted Rs 25 lakh from a jewellery shop in Guru Hargobind Nagar area.

The SIT was set up by Jalandhar Zonal Inspector General (IG) Lok Nath Angra and will be headed by DIG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh.

SSPs of Kapurthala and Jalandhar rural have also been included in the team and raids were being conducted in parts of the region, police said.

Police also released CCTV footage of the robbery, in which the suspects are visible.
 

On December 12, four unidentified men had allegedly looted jewellery worth Rs 25 lakh from a shop in posh Guru Hargobind Nagar area here.
