The councillors claimed that the people of some areas in the ward were facing acute drinking water shortage and complaints fell on deaf ears. In some other areas, the street lights were not properly maintained.
The people complained that they were supplied water once in eight days, whereas in the nearby ward, it was once in four days.
Assistant commissioner of North Zone Saravanan directed the contractor to rectify the fault immediately and assured the councillors that the problems would be tackled on a war-footing in a couple of days.
