As a stream of people visited Satyajit Ray's residence here to pay their respect on the film maker's 95th birth anniversary today, his director son Sandip Ray said he is hunting a proper site for a film complex to be named after Ray.

The film complex will house all memorabilia associated with the great film maker's works for research and public knowledge, Sandip said

"We have seen four or five spots but a proper site is yet to be selected. It might be within the city or its outskirts. Let's see," he said.

Talking to PTI in his father's study in Ray's 1/1 Bishop Lefroy Road residence, Saindip said they are living in this address since 1970.

Ray died in 1992 and this road has become inseparable with him.

It is for this reason, Sandip said, "We did not want renaming of the road and we are happy that the authorities have kept our request."

However, the look of the road has been changed with the theme of Satyajit Ray.

"People passing through the area have complimented the changed look. They talk about the posters and characters of Baba's films which have been put up," he said.

Though Bishop Lefroy Road was not renamed, the adjacent Lee Road has recently been renamed as Satyajit Ray Dharani.
