Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday said though "some people" do not want peace in Jammu and Kashmir, the situation is returning to normal in the state following the abrogation of Article 370.
The oil and steel minister was speaking to reporters during his brief visit here.
"The situation is becoming normal in the valley... lot of issues are coming to fore...There are some people who do not want the situation to turn normal in the valley," the BJP leader said.
On Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's letter to Centre protesting slashing of kerosene quota of the state, Pradhan said, "Since Independence, there has been a system of allocating kerosene basically for two purposes, for lighting the house and as fuel.
"The Prime Minister's Ujjwala scheme to provide LPG connections and Saubhagya scheme to provide power supply to all houses have reduced kerosene consumption," the minister said.
Considering the number of new power and LPG connections given, there is no cut in kerosene quota, but the subsidized kerosene quota has been reduced, he said.
