The situation in Chandan Nagar area in the city, where curfew was imposed on Tuesday after violent clashes over the recovery of a cow carcass in Dhar Pulia area, is normal, police said today.
"The curfew was relaxed for two hours each in the morning and evening for women only and during the period no untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the locality," Inspector General (IG) Indore Range, Vipin Maheshwari told PTI.
"We are keeping a vigil and monitoring the situation. Police has been deployed in strength in the affected areas," he added.
Following the violence, in which 50 people, including 20 policemen, were injured after two groups indulged in stone-pelting, curfew was clamped in the area, which was still on as a precautionary measure, police added.
