Situation in Palwal district remained peaceful as no untoward incident was today reported from Teekri Brahman village, where people of two communities had clashed yesterday, even as police arrested 17 people in connection with the incident.
Police Commissioner Mitesh Jain and Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar Meena led a flag march in the panic-stricken village to restore the confidence among the people.
17 people were today arrested on charges of rioting and five for not cooperating with police under various provisions of the CrPC.

At least 39 people had sustained injuries in the incident. 12 critically injured have been admitted to Safdarjang Hospital, police said.
A 15-member committee, including representatives from both the communities, has been tasked with resolving the issue.
A petty issue between two families of different communities yesterday led to the clash in the village, police said.
Information was received that people of two communities pelted stones on each other. Some gun shots were also heard. However, not casualties were reported in the incident, SHO, Palwal Sadar, Inspector Jagram said.
