Six air passengers were arrested today for smuggling gold biscuits concealed inside mobile sets and clothes at NSC Bose international airport here.
The six accused -- H Maria, Avdesh Maria, Pramod Kumar, Indrajit Gupta, Pradeep Kumar and Prajesh Gupta -- were held by the custom officials while they were coming out of the airport after arriving from Bangkok with the gold biscuits.
A total of 1.824 kg gold worth Rs 54 lakhs were seized from their possession, airport sources said.
