Six persons were arrested today for allegedly kidnapping a 7-year-old son of a businessman here for a ransom of Rs 7 lakh, police said.

Arun Rajoria, Jitendra Yadav, Ravi Goyal, Tej Singh Solanki, Subham Kushwaha and Ajay abducted Vinayak from Scheme no. 134 area of the city on April 14 when he and his two sisters were returning home in evening, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Santosh Kumar Singh told reporters.

The boy was then taken by the accused to one of their friends' house in Ramkrishnabagh area and was held captive there. Fearing that the police was zeroing in on them, they freed and left Vinayak, son of Kailash Gurjar, near his house the next day, he added.

Prime accused Rajoria, who was once a neighbour of Gurjar, plotted the boy's abduction for Rs 7 lakh ransom.

The accused were nabbed based on the statement of Vinayak and sketches, Singh added.
