Six arrested for murder in Punjab

Police seized firearms and cartridges from Jalandhar Dehat area with the arrest of six persons in connection with a murder case, a senior official said today.

Acting on a tip off, six persons were arrested last evening and three pistols, several cartridges and two stolen cars were recovered from them, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jalandhar Jaspreet Singh Sandhu said.

The held persons were allegedly involved in murder of a person in Kana Dhesia village in Goraya area here on May 14, he said.

The arrested accused were identified as Rahul Sood, Bhupindra Singh, George, Shiv Karan, Harindra Singh and Lakhvir Singh, he said.
 

The SSP claimed that with these arrests, two gangs operating from Kapurthala and Hoshiarpur jails have also been busted as all of them were working on the instructions of their imprisoned gang leaders.

They used to conduct robbery and murder on the instructions from their gang leaders, he said.

These arrests have eased solving of several cases of robbery, murder and snatching, the SSP added.
