Six arrested, three juveniles held for attacking teacher

Six persons have been arrested and three juveniles apprehended for allegedly attacking a 51- year-old government school teacher in south Delhi's Neb Sarai area, the police said today.

The accused claimed that they were supporters of one Rajesh Kumar who contested the MCD elections from a ward in Sangam Vihar, it said.

The victim, Kaptaan Singh, resides in the same street as Kumar but did not support him. They thought that Kumar lost the elections because of Singh and attacked him on April 28, the police said.

The accused were identified on the basis of CCTV footage

From the footage, a person named Faisal alias Abid was identified with the help of beat staff. He was arrested from Tigri area and two of his other accomplices, Rajesh alias Dhansu, Ajay alias Uma Shankar were also arrested.
 

Later, the juveniles were apprehended and and three more persons were arrested by a team led by SHO (Neb Sarai) Kuldeep Singh.

One person is absconding. The victim is a Trained Graduate Teacher in a government school in Khanpur in the evening shift.
