Six Bangladeshis sentenced to 10 years imprisonment

Fast track court judge R.K.Sahoo, while convicting the six Bangladeshi nationals, also imposed a penalty of Rs 3000. In case of inability to pay the fine, the convicts would have to undergo an additional jail term of 18 months.

Though for both offences separate quantum of punishment was awarded the judgement says 'both would run concurrently.'

The Bangladeshis were arrested in May 2007 in connection with a number of robbery and dacoity cases and booked under different provisions of IPC and Foreigners Act.

The convicts are Abdul Basar Mulla, Asad Ulla, Sk. Teliar, Puz Khan and Babu Khan.
