Six labourers from Bihar were today rescued by State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) after they were trapped under the debris of a house which collapsed during renovation work here, police said.
The SDRF launched the rescue operation around 11.40 AM soon after receiving information about the house collapse at Hyderpora locality on Srinagar-Airport road, a police spokesman said.
"After putting in strenuous efforts and pressing into service all available rescue equipment, the SDRF team rescued and retrieved the six labourers safely. They were immediately rushed to hospital for check-up and treatment," he said.

Additional Director General of Police S M Sahai, who was constantly monitoring the rescue operation, appreciated the exemplary performance exhibited by SDRF personnel while saving the lives of labourers and announced a cash reward in favour of the rescue team.
