Six people have been booked by Hisar police on the charge of allegedly obtaining more than one plot in residential sectors of Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) by submitting forged documents, police said on Tuesday.

Those booked by the police were found to have acquired more than one plot under reserve categories in spite of already owning plots earlier.

Following a complaint by the HUDA Hisar Estate Officer, Civil Lines Police on Monday registered six separate cases under Sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducting delivery of property), 406 (Criminal breach of trust), 181 (Knowingly stating to be a public servant on oath as true that which is false), 177 (Knowingly furnishing false information to a public servant), 200 (Using as true any such declaration known to be false), and 120B (Criminal conspiracy) of the Indian penal code.

According to HUDA officials, on the directions of the Punjab and Haryana High Court last year, HUDA scanned the records and detected various allottees who had allegedly obtained more than one plot from its reserve category.

No arrest has been made so far, police said.

So far, about 100 people, including some defence personnel, were booked by the Hisar police on the complaint of HUDA during a one year period.
