At least six children today fell ill after consuming mid day meal at a government school in Kalyanpur area in the district.

The affected children after being treated are out of danger, Additional City Magistrate of Kalyanpur area Rajendra Tripathi said.

However, a child has been admitted to a nearby hospital after he experienced fever, Tripathi said.

Children of a school on the Kalyanpur-Bithoor road, being run by government's social welfare department, complained of stomach ache after eating a curry, he said, adding, after inspection, some rotten potatoes were found in the kitchen store.

He said the sample of the curry has been sent for probe and the cook of the school kitchen has been removed from the post.
