Six boys went missing while they were taking bath in Damodar river in Ramgarh district today, police said.
"Eleven children went to the river to take bath when they were swept away by high currents. While five have been rescued, six are missing. Divers are on rescue mission," Ramgarh Superintendent of Police Anish Gupta told PTI.
The mishap occurred in Ramgarh proper, about 45 km from here.
Sub-divisional Officer Deepak Kumar said the children were between 10 and 15 years of age and got caught in the midst of sudden rise in the water level following opening of sluice gates of Patratu dam.
