Six cops suspended for remaining absent during duty hours

Two police inspectors, one head constable and three constables have been suspended for not being present at their police stations during duty hours.

On the basis of a report prepared after a surprise inspection at various police stations, SSP Shalabh Mathur suspended all the six policemen.

Mathur said Kent Police Station Night Officer, Sub-Inspector Bhola Prasad Rastogi was found sleeping at his home instead of being present at the police station yesterday morning, the report prepared by a team led by IPS officer Akash Tomar said.

Karnailganj Police Station Sub-Inspector Sarvesh Singh was absent during duty hours and Bekan Gunj head constable Braj Raj and constables Brahm Kumar, Ravindra Kumar and Bachhu Lal were also found absent from their police stations, the report said.
 

Mathur constituted the team to undertake surprise inspections to check if cops are present at their respective police stations during their duty hours in the morning.

"Such surprise inspection would continue in other police stations as well," the SSP said.
