Six crib deaths took place in government-run Malda Medical College Hospital since Wednesday, hospital superintendent and the college vice-principal M A Rashid said today.
While four of the six infants were newborns, the other two were within two months of age. One of them was already undergoing treatment at the hospital, while the rest were admitted in critical condition.
All the six infants were underweight and were suffering from breathing problems and infection, Rashid said.
