Six die in four accidents in the city

A total of six persons, including three engineers and an engineering graduate, died in four separate accidents in the city today, police said.

Three techies, working for a private firm died on the spot when a chartered taxi carrying them hit a median and then a tree near Pallavaram around 4.30 am, they said.

The driver and another engineer, who were wearing the seat belt, however escaped with injuries and have been shifted to hospital for further treatment.

An engineering graduate, who was on his way to his office along with his colleague on his bike, died of head injuries after his bike skidded off the road due to rain water and hit a median around 6.30 am, police said. His colleague, who suffered a fractured leg has been admitted to a hospital for further treatment, they said.
 

In two other incidents, Shanmugam of Chromepet and Nagaraj of Perumkalathur died on the spot when their bikes hit another bike and a private bus respectively, they said.
