Six drown in separate mishaps

Six people, including two students, drowned in two separate mishaps here, police said today.

Four youths from Maharashtra's Amravati town drowned when they ventured in deep water yesterday in Mandu river at Salabardi under Aathner police station limits, about 130 kms from here, while they were enjoying a picnic, they said.

The deceased were identified as - Mazboor Ali (24), Qajib Khan (22), Naved Ahmed (24) and Mohammad Afzal (21).

In another accident, two class XII students drowned yesterday while swimming in Vardha river at Shergarh village near Multai, they said.

Both the deceased - Rakesh Deshmukh and Prashant Barange - were residents of Meghnath Colony at Multai.
 

The bodies of the deceased in both the mishaps were fished out and handed over to their families after autopsy, police added.
