Six GMs, EDs of public sector banks get promotions

Six banks officials working as General Managers and Executive Directors have been promoted and given new postings.

P V Bharathi and Sanjiv Sharan, General Managers of Canara Bank and Punjab National Bank respectively, have been made Executive Directors in their respective banks, an order issued today by Department of Personnel and Training said.

S S Mallikarjuna Rao and Atul Kumar Goel will be EDs in Syndicate Bank and Union Bank of India respectively. Both are presently working as General Managers.

Rao is in Oriental Bank of Commerce and Goel is working with Allahabad Bank.

Gurudeo Madhukar Yadwadkar and Krishna Prasad Nari, EDs in IDBI Bank, have been appointed as Deputy Managing Directors in the same bank.

During the one-day meeting, the Finance Minister will review credit to MSEs, minorities, SC and ST, education and housing loan segments, among others, an official statement said.

Besides, the progress made under the Stand-Up India initiative will also be reviewed.

Along with the CEOs of PSBs and financial institutions, the meeting will also be attended by Ministers of State for Finance, Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Arjun Ram Meghwal, Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS) Anjuly Chib Duggal, Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) Arvind Subramanian and senior officers of the Ministry of Finance, among others.
