Six terrorists of Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) were arrested and a cache of arms seized today from Goalpara district by a joint team of the Army and Assam Police.
"Six hardcore terrorists of GNLA were apprehended at Borjhara village in Goalpara district in a successful joint operation under Lakhipur police station by Lakhipur battalion of Red Horns division and Goalpara Police," an official release of the Army said.
The team also recovered four 7.65 mm pistols that were made in Italy, two country made rifles, two swords, a number of live rounds, five mobile phones and three motorcycles from them, it added.
