Six imported vehicles belonging to real estate developer D S Kulkarni, arrested on charges of allegedly cheating 2,500 investors to the tune of Rs 230 crore, were seized by Pune police today.

Officials said that the worth of the vehicles, comprising five cars and a motorcycle, was being evaluated after which a report would be submitted in court in order to auction the vehicles to recover money.

"On the directions of the court, further course of action pertaining to the auction will be taken," he said.

Kulkarni and his wife were arrested from Delhi on February 17 under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Protection of Interest of Depositors Act and the Indian Penal Code for allegedly duping investors.

Kulkarni, who was remanded in police custody, had to be hospitalised after he complained of uneasiness in the lock-up.
