The rainstorms battered the eastern, middle and southern areas of Sichuan from September 8 to 15, with a total rainfall of over 400 mm in five counties, said officials at the Sichuan Provincial Flood Control Headquarters.

Some areas reported record-high precipitation during the same period. Power, roads, communications and crops were damaged by the rainstorms.
