Six killed road accident

Six persons were killed and two others, including a 15-year-old boy, injured when a jeep rammed into a bauxite-laden truck on Lohardaga-Lukiya road in Lohardaga district today.

The incident happened when the victims, residents of Latehar district, were going to Kunkuri village in adjoining Chattisgarh in the jeep, police said.

The driver of the vehicle lost control in the wee hours and rammed into the truck. While two persons were killed on the spot, four others, including a woman, succumbed to their injuries on way to the hospital.

The seriously injured were referred to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi, police said.
