Six NDFB(S) terrorists nabbed from Kokrajhar

Six NDFB(S) terrorists were arrested from Kokrajhar district today in a joint operation of the Army and the Assam Police.

"On specific intelligence provided by the Gajraj Intelligence Unit, six hardcore NDFB(S) terrorists were apprehended by the Army and Police in Parbatjhora Reserve Forest (Kokrajhar)," a Defence spokesperson said in a release.

The security forces have recovered a 12 bore rifle, four pistols, five hand grenades and other equipment, he said.

"On further interrogation, it was revealed by the terrorists that they were tasked by NDFB(S) to recruit new cadres from Kokrajhar and Chirang districts, carry out extortion activities and inform about movement of security forces conducting operations against NDFB(S)," the official said.
 

The apprehended terrorists have been identified as Gobla Basumatary alias B Gwnshwar, Preg Barmouh alias Daoharo, Shamkhar Musahari, Rahul Khaklary alias Ridung, Babul Narzary alias Kantiswar alias Gajen and Swarang Boro alias Tekeka, the release said.

The spokesperson added all six were Myanmar-trained cadres from the 35th batch of NDFB(S).
