Six prisoners, involved in the attack on three wardens and a jailor in Puzhal Central Prison here, were transferred to different jails in Tamil Nadu today.

Four prison officials -- three wardens and a jailor -- were attacked by a group of prisoners, including some "fundamentalists", yesterday during a supervisory drill carried out by one of the officials.

"While Muthumani, warden who sustained head injuries in the incident is still in hospital for observation, the others have been discharged. Additional forces have been deployed and the six prisoners who were involved in the attack were shifted today to different jails in the state," a senior prison official told PTI.

"Police" Fakruddin was shifted to Vellore, Panna Ismail to Madurai, Bilal Malik to Cuddalore, Kadher Mohideen to Salem and Mannadi Abdullah to Tiruchirpalli and Munna alias Mohammed Rafiqe to Coimabtore prisons, he said, adding cases under several sections of IPC have been slapped on them.

Fakruddin is key suspect in the 2011 Advani pipe bomb case and murders of BJP and Sangh Parivar unit leaders.
