Six robbers held

With the arrest of six persons,

police today claimed to have busted an alleged gang of robbers active in the district and adjoining areas.

Sanjya Jatav, Rajkumar, Babalu, Joshi, Dinesh and Amit, were arrested near the new new bus stand last night, according to police.

Riyasat Ali, a tailor, alleged the six accused of robbing him of Rs 16,000 on pretext of offering him a major professional assignment.

According to the complaint, the accused called Ali to a hotel to offer him a professional contract and robbed him.

"Rs 16,000 were seized from the possession of the accused," said Shiv Shankar Yadav, Superintendent of Police (City).
 

The accused adopted new methods to rob people, the police official said.
