C Govindarajanar from Tamil Nadu was presented the 'Tolkappiyar Award' and Francois Gros from France was honoured with Kural Pitam Award (Foreigner).
The Young Scholar Award was won by A Lakshmi Duttai from Puducherry, S Madhavan, M Ramakrishnan and S Sentamizhpavai
