Six women from Karna, AP rescued from flesh trade;3 men nabbed

Six women hailing from Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh forced into the flesh trade by three persons were rescued and the trio arrested today, police said.

On specific inputs, the Anti Vice Squad of Chennai Police raided houses and flats in three areas -- Athipattu, Vadapalani and Choolaimedu - and nabbed three persons in this connection, they said today.

Four women were rescued from Athipattu and one each from Vadapalani and Choolaimedu, they said.

The three men were later produced before a local court and remanded to judicial custody

All the six women were sent to a government run home at Mylapore, they added.
 

Police have also sought information from the public on any suspicious activity in their areas.
