The sixth edition of Swimmathon, touted as the country's premier open water swimming competition, will be held at Colva beach in South Goa on December 3.
The event had been accredited by the Swimming Federation of India as the national selection trials.
Winners of Swimmathon, both men and women in 5K and 10K races, will represent India at the FINA World Championship and Asian and Commonwealth Games, it was announced at a media conference here today.

Khade said there has been a "drastic change" in the scenario with regard to swimming in India in the last ten years.
"The standard of swimming has improved (in the country)," said Virdhawal, an Arjuna Awardee.
Ashish Agarwal, Co-Founder of Square Off Sports, the organisers of Swimmathon, said the last year's men's winner Ramesh Tamatta in the 10K category part in Olympic qualifier at Portugal.
He said this year the event will have four categories which includes 10K and 5K for both men and women.
Around 1, 000 participants are expected to participate in the event across various categories.
Agarwal also said swimmers like Sandeep Shejwal are likely to take part in the event.
The total cash prize for the event is Rs 4 lakh with winners in 10K and 5K categories (male and female) will get Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 each.

2.5K Swimmathon and 1K Swimmathon
Under 14 Boys and Girls

35+ years men and women.
