Skeleton of a 5 year old boy found

A human skeleton found today in an old septic tank during construction of a new building on the same plot sent policemen and locals in a tizzy in East Delhi's West Vinod Nagar area here.

According to police, the skeleton, found by a labour while digging, was of a five-year old boy identified as Himanshu, who had gone missing in 2009.

Munni Devi, sister of Himanshu's father lived in the building which was there in 2009. It was here Himanshu was last seen before going missing.

"A shoe, which the victim's father identified to be of his son, was also recovered along with the bones. We are now sending the skeleton for forensic examination so that they can be matched with the victim's parents," said a police official.
 

Himanshu's father Srichand told police that the victim had gone to his aunt's house along with his elder brother Priyanshu to watch Ramlila but went missing after that.

Munni Devi left the house an year ago after which the owner of the house sold it. The new owner razed the old building and was constructing a new house when the skeleton was found today.

Police said it was investigating the case and efforts were on to trace Munni Devi and her family.
