Skill development, ease of doing business planned

AAP government today announced measures to ensure 'Ease of Doing Business' in the state, including simplifying process of procuring licenses and to "end inspector raj".

Presenting the budget for fiscal 2015-16, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia declared clubbing of seven services of five government departments for grant of clearances and linking the same to Centre's e-biz portal.

"Under the e-Biz Project for Ease of Doing Business, steps are proposed to simplify the process of getting license and other clearances hassle-free for starting business.

"Seven services of five departments for grant of clearances have been clubbed and linked to the e-biz portal of Government of India and 22 more services are to be included in 2015-16. This government will ensure the end of 'Inspector Raj'," Sisodia said in his budget speech.
 

Amongst other decisions, the Government has planned to undertake work of infrastructure development in all 29 industrial areas in the state by way of providing proper roads, water, electricity, street lighting, storm water drainage, sewage facilities and local STP (wherever required).

Meanwhile, the Government announced starting of skill development courses in consultation with people from industrial, business and service sectors.

"There is a proposal for expansion of World Class Skill Centre started in collaboration with the Government of Singapore. The centre, presently at ITI Vivek Vihar complex, will be shifted to its own campus at Jaunapur at the earliest," Sisodia added.

The Government also assured that there shall be "vast" employment opportunities along with innovative applications in service and industry sectors.
