Skipper's March qtr net jumps threefold to Rs 30 cr

Power and water transmission equipment maker Skipper has reported almost threefold rise in net profit at Rs 30.25 crore for the quarter ended March 31.

The company's net profit in the year-ago period was Rs 10.79 crore, Skipper said in a statement.

Its total income from operations increased to Rs 499.93 crore as against Rs 431.30 crore in the corresponding quarter of financial year 2014, it said.

"Skipper continued their upward growth trajectory with a distinct improvement in profitability as the net profit for the year-ended March 31, 2015 rose to Rs 89.17 crore from Rs 26.91 crore in the previous year," the company said in a statement.
 

The current order book position of the company as on March is approximately Rs 2,400 crore.

Continuous focus in strengthening its business presence in overseas markets, namely in Africa, Europe, North America and Lat-Am region has resulted in increased top and bottom-line for the company, it said.
