The journey of Indian cinema from silent era to the technology powered digital times would be showcased through dances, song sequences, skits, stunt shows and other cultural events at the celebrations of 100 years of Indian cinema, beginning here tomorrow.
According to sources "each decade would be brought alive," through representational presentations. Digital backdrops will be used to create virtual backgrounds. The timed-coded backdrops will project outdoor element or whatever is needed for the specific programme, be it a market place or a hillock in a forest to suit the song sequence or dance performances.
"We are trying to bring alive the immortal drum dance sequence from the 1948 blockbuster movie Chandralekha," Tamil film director R V Udayakumar, who is coordinating the cultural events for South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce told PTI.
