The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) will be holding a three-day long Jammu and Kashmir Agricultural Science congress.
"The SKUAST-J in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir State Council for Science and Technology and Department of Science and Technology, government of India, New Delhi, is organizing a three-day Jammu and Kashmir Agricultural Science congress from Oct 28 to 30 at its main campus", a spokesman said.
He said that 500-600 delegates of different specializations of Agriculture, Veterinary and Basic Sciences from all over the India are expected to attend this Agricultural Science congress of the state.

"The three-day deliberations shall include socio-economic dynamics of farming, rural livelihood, management of water and land resources, alternate farming system and farm diversification, technological innovations on crop and livestock management, climate resilience in agriculture, managing biotic and abiotic stresses, challenges and strategies in animal health and productivity", he said.
"Attaining livelihood security, sustainable food production and environmental protection has always been a challenging task and the main focus of the congress" he said.
The congress aims to serve as a platform for evolving a holistic consensus on future strategies for giving direction to agricultural research to increase production and productivity, he said.
