Cybersecurity management startup Skybox Security today said it has raised USD 150 million (about Rs 974 crore) in funding led by private equity firm CVC Capital Partner's Growth Fund (CVC Growth) and global investor Pantheon.

While CVC Growth contributed USD 100 million, Pantheon poured the remaining, the company said in a statement.

CVC Capital Partners is a private equity and investment advisory firm, and Pantheon is a global investor in private equity, infrastructure and real assets.

The funds will enable an accelerated investment in sales and marketing, customer care and R&D, the company said adding that it will also be used for potential M&A activity to capitalise on the approximately USD 10 billion market opportunity in cybersecurity management.

"Enterprises, governments everyone is either embarking on or going through massive digital transformation, and this means new challenges for security because the attack surface of these organisations is growing more complex," Skybox CEO Gidi Cohen said.

He further said with this investment, the company will accelerate that innovation, focusing on some critical areas, such as security management for the cloud and the OT networks that control critical infrastructure.

Globally, Skybox customers include 5,000 companies and government agencies, in more than 50 countries.

Jason Glass and John Clark, managing partner of CVC Growth Partners, will join Skybox's board of directors, the company said.
