The owner of a skydiving company says a man has died after opening his main and reserve parachutes too late during a jump at a southwest Ohio airport.
The Hamilton-Middletown Journal-News reports, the 47-year-old man from the Cincinnati suburb of Mason man plunged to his death Sunday morning at Middletown Regional Airport.
Drop Zone owner John Hart II says the man had made 95 previous jumps. Hart says the man deployed his main parachute under the recommended altitude limit of 3,500 feet and opened his reserve parachute too late as well.
The newspaper reports that the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
