Work on the ambitious skywalk project at ITO, one of Delhi's busiest traffic junctions and an office hub, will be completed within six months, PWD Minister Satyendar Jain said today.
The Delhi government's Public Works Department has started construction of what, officials claimed, would be the city's first "mega skywalk".
Every day, around 30,000 pedestrians cross the roads at ITO, which has several offices complexes, two metro stations, the Tilak Bridge Railway Station and seven major arterial roads, Jain told reporters.
"The skywalk will be completed within six months. It will have seven enteries and lift facilities," he said, adding it would also have food stalls and places for people to sit.
