The mortal remains of a CRPF jawan Radheyshayam Paswan, who was among the 14 jawans killed in a Maoist attack in Chhatisgarh earlier this week, was consigned to flames at Balua ghat on the banks of the river Ganga in Bhojpur district today.
The funeral was preceded by a guard of honour by the local police.
District Magistrate Pankaj Kumar Pal and senior civil and police officials, besides a large number of people attended the funeral.
Pal also gave away a cheque for Rs ten lakh as compensation to the slain CRPF jawan's family.
