Slain inspector's family meets Akhilesh

The family of inspector Anil Kumar Singh who was shot dead in Pratapgarh met Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today and said that he had assured them that the state government will order a CBI probe into the murder.

"We met Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and he assured us that the government will order CBI probe into the murder of my husband. The local police, including Superintendent of Police, was involved in the murder conspiracy," slain inspector's wife Aarti told reporters here after meeting the CM.

"The CM has also assured maximum compensation. We have also demanded a government job from him," Aarti said.
 

Inspector Anil Kumar Singh, who was under suspension, was killed in Pratapgarh on November 19 by some persons.

When asked about the possibility of CBI probe in the matter, IG Law and Order A Satish Ganesh said they have not received any official communication in this regard from the CM's office.
