Slain jawan's family to get Rs 10 lakh compensation

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today announced Rs 10 lakh compensation for the family of an Army jawan, who was killed in an extremist attack in Assam on Wednesday last.

Expressing grief over the death of the jawan, who was a resident of Khurpatti village of Godda district, Das said 3.25 crore people of the state are with the jawan's family in this hour of need.

The chief minister directed the principal home secretary to ensure that the compensation was handed over to the jawan's family today itself.
