Slain Kunda DSP's wife moves court, seeks insurance money

Wife of slain Kunda DSP Zia-ul-Haque has approached a court here, staking claim to her husband's insurance money and movable and immovable assets.

Parveen Azad filed a plea yesterday in the court of Civil Judge, senior division, Ram Autar Yadav staking claim to the insurance amount and property, sources said here today.

The court fixed July 26 as the next date of hearing.

Haq was not married at the time when he took the insurance of Rs 11 lakh and had named his father and mother as nominees, sources said.

The policy matured on June 26, but a day before Parveen staked the claim after which the company stopped the payment.
 

When contacted, Haq's father, Shamshul, said that they did expect such a thing from Parveen.
