Several people today bid a tearful adieu to a policeman who was killed in an encounter with terrorists at his home town in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district.

Constable Zahir Abbas was killed in the gunfight in Mir Mohalla village of north Kashmir's Bandipora district yesterday.

He is survived by his wife, two minor sons and a daughter, who is the youngest among the siblings.
