Press Trust of India Jammu
Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party today said the government should slap sedition charges against the separatists in Kashmir as they were responsible for the deteriorating security scenario in the Valley.

"Soft approach adopted toward the separatists is responsible for deteriorating security scenario in the Valley. Sedition charges should be slapped against all those challenging the integrity and sovereignty of India," JKNPP Chairman Harsh Dev Singh told reporters.

He said the prevalent situation mandated the invocation of Section 92 of the state's constitution and imposition of the Governor's rule.

Singh criticised the separatists for refusing to meet the all-party delegation led by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and said "such subversive forces did not deserve any leniency and were required to be dealt with in accordance with the law".

Singh said he apprised the all-party delegation of the "abuse of Article 370 and special status for the benefit of politicians".
